In February 2009, President Obama rolled out a stimulus package entitled the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that expands tax credits for energy-efficient appliances and home improvements. Note: Units must be installed between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010 to be eligible for tax credits.
